Our research topics
Other Research Areas
While energy and climate economics remain our core focus, our research extends beyond these domains to encompass a variety of related topics that stem naturally from our expertise and are deemed essential and innovative.
These include national (nEHS) and European emissions trading (EU-ETS), where we assess the risks associated with potential CO2 emissions shifts (carbon leakage) to other European and non-European countries. Additionally, we analyze national economic instruments of the energy transition, such as eco-taxes or EEG (Renewable Energy Sources Act).
Future research topics at EEFA also encompass:
- Global climate agreements
- Hydrogen
- Finite resources like coal, oil, and natural gas
- Non-fossil resources such as water
These areas reflect our commitment to exploring pivotal issues that shape the future of energy economics and climate policy.
Overview
Research in energy, resource, and climate economics must be both theoretically sound and application-oriented, and this is our commitment.
We advise public and private institutions using the latest economic methods. Our detailed sectoral and macroeconomic models examine relevant issues from national, European, and global perspectives.
